I value my privacy, so it naturally goes that I value yours too.
What type of data is collected?
Analytics
I use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service. It is a paid service and does not sell your data or take any interest in your data. This is a paid service, unlike more commonly used options like Google Analytics, and I pay for my subscription.
I have access to the following information:
- number of visits on a page, by its permalink
- referral information (which domain led you to any page on my domain)
- a percentage based makeup of which countries I received visitors from
- which links were clicked, but not the user journey
It does not:
- collect personally identifiable information,
- collect your IP address,
- track your user journey on my website,
- sell your information, or
- store cookies on your browser
What will this information be used for and who will have access to it?
This information is used by me for evaluating which of my articles or pages receive more attention than others. I also use it to see where my site is being referred to on the web.
Only I have access to this data. It is protected by a lengthy, randomly generated password using a password manager. The password manager itself is protected by 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication).
How can I opt out?
Please block requests to rusingh.com/js/script.js in your adblocker. You may find how to do this in your adblocker’s documentation.
Cookies
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Changes to the policy
The last update date of the page, and therefore the policy, is available towards the bottom of this page. If the contents change, those change will become effective from the moment they are published on the website.
